Wheel of Fortune
Cycles and change: a turning point arriving, fortune in motion.
Astrological association: Jupiter
The Wheel of Fortune: what the card means
The Wheel of Fortune turns in the sky, surrounded by symbolic creatures and lettered with TARO and the name of God. A sphinx rests on top, a serpent descends one side and a figure rises on the other. It is the great wheel of fate and cycles, forever turning, lifting what was low and lowering what was high. Nothing it touches stays fixed.
This card marks the turning points that arrive seemingly on their own, the shifts of luck, timing and circumstance beyond our full control. It is a reminder that life moves in cycles, that no season is permanent, and that change is the one constant. To draw it is to feel the wheel beginning to turn in your life.
Wheel of Fortune upright meaning
Upright, the Wheel of Fortune is the turn of cycles. It speaks of change arriving, of luck and fate moving, and of a turning point that shifts the direction of things. Often this is fortunate, a stroke of good timing, an opportunity, a welcome change of fortune after a difficult stretch.
The Wheel also carries a deeper teaching: that what is down will rise and what is up will turn, and that flowing with change serves you better than resisting it. When it appears, it invites you to embrace the movement, trust the larger pattern, and make the most of the shift that is underway.
Wheel of Fortune reversed meaning
Reversed, the Wheel can mean resistance to change, a run of bad luck, or feeling stuck while the wheel seems jammed against you. It can point to a downturn in a cycle, or to clinging to how things were. The invitation is to accept that the wheel will turn again, and to release your grip on what is passing.
In love
In love, the Wheel marks a turning point, a shift in a relationship or in your love life that asks you to move with the change rather than against it. It can bring fateful timing, a chance meeting, or a new phase. The reminder is that love moves in cycles too, and embracing the turn often serves you better than resisting it.
In work and money
In work and money, the Wheel of Fortune signals change, often a fortunate one: a shift in circumstances, an opportunity arriving through timing, or the turn of a cycle in your favour. It encourages you to stay adaptable and to seize the opening when the wheel turns your way.
If you drew Wheel of Fortune
If the Wheel of Fortune comes up for you, the guidance is to flow with the change rather than fight it. A turning point is here; trust the larger pattern, stay adaptable, and make the most of the shift. Remember that no season, good or hard, lasts forever.
Wheel of Fortune: yes or no?
Yes. The Wheel of Fortune leans yes. It signals positive change and fortunate timing, a turn of the cycle in your favour, though it reminds you that circumstances keep moving.
A yes or no leaning is a lens for reflection, not a fixed prediction. Tarot shows a card as a mirror; the choice and the outcome stay yours.
